Classification of the condensers
The first classification that can be done of the condensers is the relative one to his capacity if this one is permanent, or fixed; or it is variable, what gives birth to these big constructive branches, that is to say:
a) Fixed condensers.
b) Variable condensers.
The fixed condensers can split, in turn, from the point of view of the materials used in his construction into condensers of role, of polyester; of polystyrene; of metallized, ceramic polyester and electrolytic. This classification refers to the type of dielectric that is used in the fixed condensers.
Each of these types of condensers has his advantages and his applications. For example those of role and of polyester they are cheap; the ceramic ones are those who more approach the ideal condenser since his characteristics are very good, etc.; but it is necessary to emphasize the electrolytic ones. These condensers are formed generally by two sheets of paper of curled aluminum that are separated by an absorbent role. The role is impregnated with an electrolyte, that is to say, of a conductive liquid of the electric current. This role is not, logically, the dielectric, since it is conductive, but the dielectric constitutes unapelícula a thinnest of oxide of aluminum. The principal characteristic of the electrolytic condensers is his high capacity, which is achieved not across the biggest surface of his armors but across the class of described dielectric.
The electrolytic condenser is a polarized component, or that has positive and negative terminal, so that this detail must not forget if it has to knit to integrate it in a circuit.
Value Capacitivo
The capacity of storage of electricity of a condenser expresses itself in a unit of measurement which it names him by farad. Given, nevertheless that this unit proves depaciado big in practice, there are used the submultiple ones expressed in the table that continues next:
The capacity unit, the farad, corresponds to the aptitude to store a quantity of electricity of 1 culombio for a condenser to which a tension of 1 V is applied to him.
